Fixed assets are depreciated as per the rates provided under the tax code of Uzbekistan.

The maximum applicable annual depreciation rates effective 1 January 2022 are as below:

Buildings	5%
Construction building structures (oil and gas wells, bridges, dams, etc.)	10%
Computers, peripheral devices, and data processing equipment	40%
Transmission devices including power lines, pipelines, and telecommunications, power machines, and equipment (heat engineering, turbine equipment etc.)	15%
Machinery and equipment (except transport equipment as given below)	20%
Railway, river, and air transport vehicles	10%
Transport equipment - motor vehicles, lorries, busses, special cars and trucks, car bodies, trailers and semi-trailers, and other transport equipment.	20%
Other depreciable assets not classified above include geological exploration and developmental expenses necessary for the extraction of natural resources	15%

Effective 1 January 2022, the depreciation allowance for investment in:

New technological equipment is 20% (increased from 10%); and
New construction undertaken with an intention to expand its production is 10% (increased from 5%).

Effective 1 January 2022 until 1 January 2027, hotels with accommodation facilities and shopping complexes with an area exceeding 5,000 square meters can depreciate their buildings over a period of 2 years.

Intangible assets, leases, and other property rights, can be amortized over the useful life of the asset or over the period of activity of the enterprise, whichever is shorter. If the useful life cannot be determined, then the asset is amortized over 5 years.

For tax purposes, expenses incurred on the acquisition of goodwill are amortized on a monthly basis at norms calculated by the taxpayers, which may be based on the historical cost of goodwill and its useful life.
