On 13 September 2023, Albania's Council of Ministers approved the draft law for the ratification of the pending social security agreement with Bulgaria. The agreement, signed 15 March 2023, will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged and, once in force and effective, will replace the 1952 agreement between the two countries.
