Officials from Chile and Paraguay met via videoconference on 26 August 2020 to discuss various issues, including the negotiation of an amending protocol to the 2005 tax treaty between the two countries to bring it in line with OECD BEPS standards. Any resulting protocol would be the first to amend the treaty and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
