The Vietnam News Agency has published a joint statement from the presidents of Angola and Vietnam, including that the two sides have agreed to accelerated negotiations for an income tax treaty and other agreements. The joint statement was issued on 8 August 2025, following an official state visit by Vietnam's president to Angola. Any resulting treaty will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
