The Argentine tax authority (ARCA) has announced the elimination of advance payments of the tax on foreign currency purchases (Impuesto Para una Argentina Inclusiva y Solidaria - PAIS tax) in relation to imports with effect from 25 November 2024. This was provided by General Resolution 5604/2024, published in the Official Gazette on 26 November 2024. The advance payments are eliminated considering that the validity of the PAIS tax itself expires on 22 December 2024.
