On 1 October 2024, Argentina's Chamber of Deputies approved the laws for the ratification of the pending income and capital tax treaties with Austria and China.
The treaty with Austria, signed 6 December 2019, will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force. A prior treaty between the two countries was signed in 1979 and was terminated with effect from 1 January 2009.
