Australian Minister for Communications, Paul Fletcher, recently issued a release announcing the extension of measures to support the Australian film and television industry in light of COVID-19. This includes the extension of the 40% Producer Offset for producers of feature films, which is a refundable tax offset (rebate) and was to be reduced to 30% from 1 July 2021. Further, the 20% offset rate will be increased to 30% for other eligible formats such as television and animation series.
