Australian Government Considering Introduction of Patent Box Regime

According to recent reports, Australian Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg announced during a business event in London on 14 June 2019 that the Australian government is considering the introduction of a new tax regime for intellectual property. This includes the possible introduction of a UK-style patent box, which would provide for a reduced tax rate on profits from qualifying intellectual property income.
