According to recent reports, Australia's Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong is pushing for the conclusion of an income tax agreement in order to provide greater incentives for Australian businesses to look to Hong Kong as a base. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two jurisdictions and would need to be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
