On 14 May 2018, Austria published an announcement in the Official Gazette that the protocol to 2005 income and capital tax treaty with Georgian entered into force on 1 March 2013. The protocol, signed 4 June 2012, replaces Article 10 (Dividends), providing for a withholding tax exemption if the beneficial owner is a company directly holding at least 10% of the paying company's capital; otherwise, a 10% rate applies. It also replaces Article 26 (Exchange of Information).
