Austria's Ministry of Finance announced a relief package on 11 May 2020 to aid the recovery of the catering/restaurant industry, which has been heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The package includes a reduction in the VAT rate to 10% on non-alcoholic beverages until the end of 2020, as well as increase in lump-sum deductions for restaurants and pubs in lower-population areas.
