The Austrian Council of Ministers has reauthorized the negotiation of an income tax treaty with Sri Lanka. Negotiations for a treaty were first authorized back in 2007, but due to subsequent changes in personnel, new authorization was needed. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
