On 13 April 2026, the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee of Bahrain's Council of Representatives (lower house of the National Assembly) approved the draft law for the ratification of the pending income tax treaty with Saudi Arabia. The treaty, signed 3 December 2025, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
