Bahrain to Implement VAT in October 2018

The Bahrain Ministry of Finance has reportedly confirmed that it will launch its value added tax (VAT) regime on 1 October 2018. The regime will be in line with the VAT agreement of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, including a standard 5% VAT rate and a BHD 40,000 registration threshold (~USD 106,000). Additional details of the planned regime will be published once available.
