On 10 August 2020, the Bangladesh Cabinet approved for ratification the pending income tax treaty with the Czech Republic. The treaty, signed 11 December 2019, is the first of its kind between the two countries. It will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply in Bangladesh from 1 July next following the date of its entry into force and will apply in the Czech Republic from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
