According to an update from the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department, officials from Hong Kong and Bangladesh are meeting from 29 August to 1 September 2022 for the third round of negotiations for an income tax treaty. The first and second rounds were completed in August 2011 and August 2014, respectively. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two jurisdictions and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
