According to a release from the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from Bangladesh and Portugal met on 17 November 2022 to hold political consultations. During the meeting, the two countries reaffirmed their interest in concluding an income tax treaty soon. The treaty will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
