The Barbados Revenue Authority published a policy note on 4 July 2019 regarding land tax changes for the 2019-20 tax year. For improved non-resident land (commercial, industrial, and other), the land tax rate is increased from 0.70% to 0.95%. For vacant land measuring up to 4,000 sq. ft., the rate is set at 0.8%, and for land measuring over 4,000 sq. ft., the rate is set at 0.9% if value at up to BBD 450,000 and 1.0% if valued at over BBD 450,000.
