Belgium has published the Law of 16 December 2022 to establish a temporary solidarity contribution payable by the oil sector. The temporary solidarity contribution is payable by two categories of companies.
Firstly, it is payable by registered oil companies that are active in the refining sector and have refining capacity in Belgium. The amount of the contribution payable by these companies is set at EUR 6.9 per tonne of crude oil imported between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2023.
