Belgium Extends Reduced VAT Rate for Masks and Hydroalcoholic Gels and Provides Reduced Rate for Natural Gas, Solar Panels, and Others

Belgium's Federal Public Service (SPF) Finance has issued a release announcing that the reduced VAT rate of 6% for supplies of masks and hydroalcoholic gels has been extended to 30 June 2022 (previously to expire 31 March 2022). The release also notes that the VAT and import duty exemption on the import of goods to fight Covid-19 also applies until 30 June 2022 and takes precedence over the 6% VAT rate.
