The Belgian Prime Minister has announced that the VAT rate on electricity will be cut from 21% to 6% from 1 March 2022. The rate cut will apply for a period of four months and is part of a package meant to primarily support individuals. In addition to the rate cut, the special contribution for social security will be reduced for low- and middle-income earners.
