On 27 February 2025, Brazil's Chamber of Deputies (lower house of the National Congress) approved the ratification of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) Multilateral Agreement on Social Security, which Brazil signed on 24 July 2015. CPLP members that have signed the multilateral agreement include Brazil, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome and Principe, and Timor-Leste.
