The Brazilian government is reportedly considering the introduction of a new value added tax (VAT) tax system. The new system would be implemented at the national level and is meant to simplify Brazil's complex system of indirect taxes. Currently, Brazil's main indirect taxes include the state value added tax (ICMS), the federal tax on manufactured products (IP), and the Municipal Service Tax (ISS).
