Brazil has published Decree No. 10.572 of 11 December 2020, which provides for a temporary reintroduction of the 0% financial transactions tax (IOF) rate on credit transactions with effect from 15 to 31 December 2020. The 0% IOF rate was initially provided from 3 April to 3 July 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequently extended to 31 December 2020, but the extension was ended on 26 November 2020 by Decree No. 10.551.
