According to a release from Brazil's Ministry of Social Security, officials from Brazil and Norway are meeting from 5 to 9 May 2025 for the second round of negotiations for a social security agreement. The first round of negotiations was held in 2019, with negotiations on the final text expected to be concluded during the second round. Any resulting agreement will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
