On 6 October 2022, Brazil's Senate (upper chamber of the National Congress) approved the ratification of the pending social security agreement with Mozambique. The agreement, signed 11 May 2017, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force on the first day of the second month after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
