As was the case for 2004, the government introduced a tax amnesty in 2006. This tax amnesty is wider than the previous one, as it would not only just apply to savings income. Businesses and self-employed are able to declare their unreported income and individuals would be able to declare their unreported employment income. No penalties are imposed.
