The Bulgarian parliament is considering two draft bills that provide for an increase in the VAT registration threshold, which is currently set at BGN 50,000. The first draft bill provides for an increased threshold of BGN 166,000 and the second draft bill provides for an increased threshold of BGN 200,000. Both draft bills were submitted on 28 April and, as drafted, include 1 January 2022 effective dates.
