The Bulgarian parliament has approved the State Budget Bill for 2025 on 21 March 2025. Among other things, the legislation provides for a reduction in the VAT registration threshold from BGN 166,000 to BGN 100,000 with effect from 1 April 2025. Note that the reduction in the threshold was previously included in a draft bill for the implementation of the EU small business scheme for cross-border supplies, but this legislation was delayed.
