The Bulgarian parliament is considering a draft bill submitted on 27 July 2020 that would expand the scope of the reduced 9% VAT rate to additional supplies. This includes:
- Beer and wine provided as a part of restaurant/catering services;
- Common tourist services and excursions organized by tourist operators and travel agents with occasional bus transport; and
- Services for the use of sports facilities.
As drafted, the reduced rate would enter into force on 1 August 2020.
