Canada's Department of Finance has announced the tabling of the Notice of Ways and Means Motion to introduce an Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on 16 April 2024 (previous coverage).
This includes, among several other things, legislation for the implementation of the 15% Pillar 2 global minimum tax, the Global Minimum Tax Act, which will apply for fiscal years of a qualifying MNE group that begin on or after 31 December 2023.
