The Central Bank of Ecuador (Banco Central de Ecuador, BCE) has reportedly proposed a remittance tax (ISD) exemption for companies and financial entities that receive foreign financing. The exemption would apply on outbound payments of interest in order to mitigate the financial burden caused by increasing interest rates in foreign jurisdictions. Further details on the implementation of the exemption measure will be published once available.
