On 24 June 2025, Chad's National Assembly (lower house of Parliament) approved the law for the ratification of the pending income tax treaty with the United Arab Emirates. The treaty, signed 4 September 2018, is the first of its kind between the two countries. It will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year in which it was signed (i.e., 1 January 2018).
