In a final vote held 18 May 2021, Chile's Chamber of Deputies (lower house of Congress) reportedly rejected several measures meant to increase tax revenue, including the introduction of a one-off net wealth tax of 2.5% on worldwide net wealth (assets) and the temporary increase in the corporate (first category) tax rate to 30% for the 2021 and 2022 tax years for very large companies.
