On July 4 2014, China's State Administration of Taxation issued SAT Announcement 014] No. 42, which covers value added Tax (VAT) issues in international cargo transport agency service. According to the announcement, taxpayers indirectly engaged in agent services including international cargo transport, transportation tools entering and departing port, pilotage arrangement, and loading and unloading will be exempt from VAT starting 1 September 2014.
