On 15 April 2026, officials from China and Vietnam signed an Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters. According to a release from China's Xinhua news agency, the agreement was signed along with several other cooperation agreements during a state visit to China by Vietnamese President To Lam.
