The Colombian tax authority (DIAN) has issued Ruling 294 of 25 April 2024, which addresses certain questions regarding the application of the tax on single-use plastic products for packaging. The ruling confirms that the tax applies to sales of single-use plastic products in Colombia and abroad, i.e., exports. Further, the ruling confirms that the exclusion of certain single-use plastic products from the tax also applies when such products are exported.
