Costa Rica's Legislative Assembly is considering Bill 21.552, which was approved in its first reading on 24 August 2021. The bill provides for the introduction of an amnesty regime for outstanding social security contributions, providing a waiver of fines, surcharges, and interest on amounts due by employers and self-employed persons as long as the principal amount is paid in full within 12 months from the date of the Bill's entry into force.
