Recently, the Belgian Council of Ministers reached an agreement on new tax measures to balance the 2013 Budget. Details of the most important proposals are summarized below.
(a) Withholding tax on dividend distributions by SMEs
Article 15 of the Belgian Company Code defines an SME as a company which does not exceed more than one of the following thresholds:
