According to a release from the Suriname Ministry of Finance and Planning, officials from Curacao and Suriname met on 20 October 2023 to discuss bilateral cooperation, including the negotiation of an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
