Officials from Australia and Cyprus reportedly met on 10 February 2020 to discuss bilateral issues, including the interest of Cyprus in beginning negotiations for an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
