Cyprus Provides Temporary Zero VAT Rate for Meat and Vegetables

The Cyprus Tax Department recently announced the temporary application of the zero VAT rate on meat and vegetables with effect from 1 December 2023 until 31 May 2024. The zero rate applies for fresh, chilled, or frozen meat including beef, pork, lamb, goat, poultry, and rabbit, as well as edible offal products. The zero rate applies for various fresh or chilled vegetables, including tomatoes, onions, cabbage, lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, and legumes, among several others.
