On 25 April 2019, Cyprus published Law No. 63(I)/2019 in the official gazette for the transposition of certain measures of the EU Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive (ATAD), including the ATAD interest deduction limitation rules, controlled foreign company (CFC) rules, and the general anti-avoidance rule (GAAR) ({News-2019-04-10/A/2-previous coverage}). With the publication, the new rules are in force and effective from 1 January 2019.
