On 8 September 2022, the Czech Chamber of Deputies (lower house of parliament) approved the bill for the ratification of the pending income tax treaty with Qatar. The treaty was approved by the Senate (upper house) on 10 August 2022. The treaty, signed 21 June 2022, is the first of its kind between the two countries. It will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
