On 13 December 2023, the Czech Chamber of Deputies (lower house of parliament) approved the ratification of the pending tax treaties with Rwanda, Sri Lanka, and the United Arab Emirates.
The income tax treaty with Rwanda was signed on 2 May 2023 and is the first of its kind between the two countries. It will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
