Democratic Republic of the Congo Providing VAT Exemption on Certain Imports

The Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo reportedly issued Decree no. 20/015 on 20 April 2020, which provides an exemption from VAT on certain imports in response to COVID-19. This includes an exemption on basic necessities, such as meat, fish, milk, fruits, cereals, non-alcoholic beverages, and soaps. The exemption applies for a period of three months from the date the decree was issued.
