Leaders of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee and the House Ways & Means Committee have announced the release of a discussion draft of legislation providing relief for U.S. and Taiwanese workers and businesses from double taxation based on certain provisions of the U.S. Model Tax Treaty, including reciprocal benefits such as reduced withholding taxes on relief on dividends, interest, and royalties. Comments on this discussion draft are requested by 24 July 2023.
