The government released a discussion document on 5 December 2007, which invites feedback on proposals to reduce the cost of compliance with tax laws for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). The document proposes increasing the thresholds before which a return is required, and simplifying the law for certain expenses, GST invoices and tax administration.
