Council Directive (EU) 2025/516 for the EU's VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA) Package entered into force on 14 April 2025, 20 days after its publication in the Official Journal of the EU. As previously reported, the package was approved on 11 March 2025 and is meant to update the EU's VAT systems to reflect the digitalization of its economies, help combat VAT fraud, and ease administrative obligations for small companies and individual service providers.
