Ecuador published the Decree Law on the Organic Law for the Improvement of Tax Collection through the Fight Against Money Laundering on 10 December 2024. Among other things, the Law provides for the introduction of a new tax on the transfer of used vehicles that is payable by the buyer at progressive rates of up to 5%, including natural persons and legal entities.
